Crystal Palace manager George Burley says the club are still a long way from signing Ipswich midfielder Owen Garvan.
Reports in East Anglia this morning suggest the Eagles have agreed a £250,000 fee with the Tractor Boys for the 22 year-old and are now discussing personal terms with him.
Burley though was not jumping the gun and admitted there was a lot of work to be done to secure the Irishman's signature.
"We are still pushing on with that one," he said.
"He is someone I would like to bring in and add to the squad but whether we can do it remains to be seen.
"He's an extremely talented player whose good in possession of the ball and we are working hard to get him but still have a long way to go."
